Today the topic is "Tummy Trouble".
One hundred per cent will suffer from bloating, “feeling too full”, maybe a bit nauseated, probably off food. Perhaps some bowel irregularity, and heartburn. So what’s the cause and what to do?
Most cases are simply “dietetic indiscretions”. Eating improperly. The gut likes a certain amount of food per day, not more. It prefers plain food. Over eat, and you pay the penalty. Generally it dislikes too much fried and a fatty stuff, too many fried onions and similar tasty morsels. Spicey hot stuff, and heaps of cake and cream. |
Overdoing the leafy stuff too all affects foods long passage through the gut system. Fermentation and digestion can create gas. So does heaps of fizz drinks and booze. This produces distension, flatulence and discomfort. So, watch what you shove into the mouth , eat regularly, modestly, and preferably at the same time. Try and omit suppers and midnight snacks. Drinking water is fine, but we often swallow heaps of air simultaneously, and burp loudly soon after.
So, check this out first. Chewing simple antacids helps such as Mylanta, or others. De-gas is a simple natural remedy (chemist). Some get relief from charcoal tablets (old fashioned but sucks up gas). Doctors often order Losec or Nexium or Parriet (acid suppressants)
However, any persisting symptoms need investigation, for cancer of the gut is common and increasing even in younger people in their forties. Happy belching and flatulising, but preferably outdoors, where it too helps thin the ozone layer even more, and contributes to global warming.
