But warm days often bring out irritations. Believe it, dry itchy skin may head the list. If this is your problem, here are some hints:
|
If persisting this needs a doctor check. It may be the early symptom of diabetes which needs treatment.
FIX THE ITCHES
Do not scratch. This gives temporary relief, but aggravates The more you scratch the worse it becomes.
Apply pressure - this often helps. Press against a wall for a minute or two if the back itches! Crazy but helpful.
Apply cold. Either a wet cool face cloth or towel placed over the irritated area shrinks down blood vessels and often offers relief.
If showering, keep heat at body warmth, not hot. End with cool to cold. Then dab body with a very soft towel. Do not rub as this aggravates.
Lie in a body warmth bath. Place a cup of rolled oats into a sock, tie end, place in water and knead. Milky fluid exudes which is very soothing to the skin.
Weak cortisone based creams give relief. Urea cream 10 per cent (often added to other creams) keeps skin moisturized and also bring relief. Many brands available.
