Q & A with Doc Wright

If the infants adenoids are enlarged, is it best to have them removed?

Only if they are causing respiratory disturbances. If infected, like the tonsils, most settle with antibiotic treatment. They shrink with age and often almost disappear. They, together with lymphoid tissue around the body, produce white cells which strengthen the body’s immune system in guarding against infections. They should be left intact if possible.
